Hi Leute,
bin via google auf euer Forum gestossen und habe hier gesehen (oder besser gelesen) das einige Experten aktiv sind.
Kurzer Background:
Nutze WinXp + BT2 (backtrack 2 final) über eine Live CD am laptop
außerdem betreibe ich über den PCMCIA slot eine Zcom XI 325 30mw Die hat den Lanescape /APDL-325 chip drinne.
Und hier liegt auch schon das problem:
bt2 erkennt diese karte nicht. Nach genauem Nachschauen habe ich gemerkt das der ganze "PCMCIA controller not detected" ist.
Ich habe mich daraufhin selber schlau gemacht und erfahren,dass ich vor dem booten :
"bt irqpoll acpi=off" eintippen soll...
Allerdings bleibt BT2 dann während des Boot Vorgangs hängen bei der Meldung:
"looking for data directory"
Ich habe diese Frage schon in einigen Foren gestellt aber diese sog. "Experten" konnten mir nicht weiterhelfen... Ich hoffe ihr jungs könnt das.

da schon der controller nicht erkannt wird, würde ich in der richtung mal suchen, und die karte erstmal als fehlerquelle ausklammern ...
was fürn schlepptop isn das?

Das ist ein Natcomp allerdings funktioniert er ja tadelos ( Bis auf der Akku ). Wenn ich unter Windows boote dann läuft ja alles?!

ich dachte es wäre klar das es sich nicht um ein Harware spezifisches Prolem handelt? Schliesslich funktioniert der PCMCIA Slot unter Windows, das ist zwar traurig aber wahr. Hardware Informationen sind daher absolut irrelevant.

lieber frank, ich weiß ja nich ob das im großraum bonn so üblich ist, aber inteligenz- und lernresistenz ist stellt bei der lösung deines problems ein beachtliches hinternis dar.
ohne deinem linux kernel mitzuteilen wie er die benötigten geräte steuert, ist es nicht möglich dein problem zu lösen
dazu sollte man zunächst mal wissen welche hardware in dem gerät vorhanden ist ...
dann sollte man die nötigen treiber auftreiben und für den einsatz vorbereiten...
gegebenenfalls kann man dann kernelmodule laden, und sich danach mit der inbetriebnahme deiner wlan karte befassen.
eventuell sind dafür weitere informationen über die verwendete hardware von nöten...
andererseits bist du hier ja der experte, und die informationen sind absolut irrelevant...

okay okay, ganz langsam,
zu allererst möchte ich mich für meinen letzten Post entschuldigen mir ist durchaus bewusst, dass er ein wenig anmaßend und arrogant geklungen haben muss, allerdings muss ich zu meiner Verteidigung sagen, dass ich schon verdammt lange nach einer Antwort suche und immer wieder auf "Experten" gestossen bin, die mich mit sinn- und zwecklosen gegenfragen gelöchert haben die mich nicht im geringsten weiter gebracht haben/hätten. Zum Glück bin hier auf ein Forum gestossen, bei dem das nicht so ist. Vorab nur eine Richtigstellung :
1. Ich habe nie behauptet ein Experte zu sein, wäre ich einer, oder würde ich von mir selbst behaupten einer zu sein, dann würde ich nicht um Hilfe bitten.
Nungut, über diese Fragestellung zu streiten bringt mich / uns nichts weiter.

in dem fall wäre das dmesg log sowie die ausgabe von lspci interessant
dir dürfte bekannt sein, dass das beheben derartiger probleme etwas schwierig ist, wenn man das gerät nicht vor der nase hat, oder zumindest eine root shell...
backtrack2 hat in der aktuellen version nen 2.6er kernel "mit einigen patches", was wiederum ein problem ist sollten sich diese patches auf das pcmcia subsystem auswirken (in dem fall kann es fehlerquellen geben die nur für einen kernel mit eben diesen patches relevant sind und auf normalen 2.6er kerneln nicht stören)
regulär sollte das pcmcia subsystem des kernels mit deinem controller umgehen können, ich könnte mir jedoch vorstellen, dass der pcmcia controller an einem pci bus hängt, der nicht direkt von der cpu erreicht werden kann, was dann zu den problemen führt...
versuch mal den kernelparameter "pci=assign-busses" anzuhängen
solltest du ne bt2 version haben die bereits den 2.6.20 kernel hat, wird das hier nicht funktionieren, da der kernel das problem nicht mehr hat ... (oder zumindest vor den "patches" nicht mehr haben sollte...)
sollte es das nicht bringen, und weder dmesg noch lspci verwertbare informationen über das problem ausspucken, bin ich leider nicht der richtige für dieses problem :/

also "pci=assign-busses" hat nichts gebracht.. PCMCIA controller bleibt weiterhin unerkannt..
Ja wegen den Logs....
Auch wenn ich gefahr laufe mich jetzt lächerlich zu machen aber wie soll ich die gewünschten Logs hier posten? Schliesslich liegt BT2 als Live CD vor und z.B textfiles werden nicht Lokal (oder irre ich mich da schon wieder) gespeichert und via netzwerk auf ein anderes sys transferieren geht auch nicht da die Wlan karte nicht erkannt wird.
Ich könnte die shell konsolen Ausgabe höchstens abtippen... Allerdings ist das einiges...
(Falls die antwort lächerlich einfach ist, bitte nicht böse sein es ist schon spät
)

PS: Mir ist gerade aufgefallen das beim booten eine MAC adresse zugeordnet wird... Heisst das nicht das ein netzwerkadapter erkannt wurde?

probier mal mit "bt pci=routeirq", sofern das acpi die kiste nicht vor die wand fährt ...
ebenfalls interessant wäre die ausgabe von LSMOD (klein schreiben)

also nachdem ich bt pci=routeirq eingegeben hatte kam nach dem einloggen und "startx" ein schwarzer Bildschirm mit folgender Meldung
"Could not start kstartupkonfig. Check your inst"
nach dem "okay" drücken passiert erst mal nichts und dann kommt
"Could not start kdeinit. Check your installation"
Das system fährt runter... .

mhh da passiert nichts. D.h. das alles normal hochfährt aber er erkennt den PCMCIA controller nicht..

dann wäre meine letzte idee den controller im polling modus zu betreiben (er mag evtl keine shared interrupts), dafür musst du allerdings eine datei ändern, was sich bei einer live cd als relativ schwierig erweisen dürfte (ja, richtig geraten, du musst dafür das iso ändern...
)
falls du es dennoch probieren willst (backtrack besitzt alternativ einen installer für eine festplatten-installation):
/etc/rc.d/rc.pcmcia
braucht folgende einträge:
PCIC=i82365
PCIC_OPTS="irq_mode=0 pci_csc=0 poll_interval=100"

mhhh wie hoch schätzt du die Wahrscheinlickeit das, dein letzter Vorschlag funktioniert?
Wie viel platz braucht Bt2 bzw kann ich es neben WinXp auf der platte halten?
Also ich kann das Iso ändern oder den installer ausführen und die festplattenversion dann ändern? Sehe ich das richtig?
Wenn ja wo änder ich diesen eintrag genau?

eine idee hätte ich da noch ...
starte die kiste mal ohne die wlan karte im slot
danach tippst du in die console:
modprobe hostap_cs
danach schiebst du die karte in den slot
und zu guter letzt tippst du mal
ifconfig -a
taucht dann ein neues netzwerk interface auf?

Also nach "modprobe hostab_cs" kommt
FATAL: Module hostab_cs not found
nach deim einschieben der Karte und der Eingabe von "ifconfig -a"
wird nur
eth0 (quasi die interne netzwerkkarte)
und
lo aufgeführt
MAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNN das kann doch nicht wahr sein, dass niemand hierzu ne Lösung hat.
.. Ach was solls ich schicke dir die ganze kiste einfach mit der post...
be im ernst was is mit deinem Lösungsvorschlag von wegen "Iso ändern" kannst du bitte nochmal auf die Fragen eingehen die ich 2 posts weiter oben gestellt hab? Ich mein ich habe ja jetzt keine andere wahl oder?

ich hab so den verdacht das wir bislang in der falschen richtung gesucht haben ...
das pcmcia subsystem muss funktionieren, da es die karte in slot 0 erkennt ... vermutlich zickt nur das grafische config tool rum ...
wenn du nun noch mal probierst hostap_cs richtig zu schreiben, könnten wir sehen ob backtrack das modul mitbringt (sollte es wohl, da prism chipsätze doch recht beliebt sind...) und ob der treiber die karte findet ... in dem fall könntest du das grafische config tool da getrost in die tonne hauen und einfach das modul laden ...

so habe getan was du mir geraten hast, diesemal auch richtig:
